Sesi means session and seni means art in the Malay language. Together, SESI SENI means art session.

SESI is also an acronym, coined by the artist, which stands for Simpang Empat Sabri Idrus. Simpang Empat is a small town, 10 minutes away from the capital city of Alor Setar, Kedah. Kedah is a state in the northwest of Peninsula Malaysia, bordering Thailand.

SESI SENI is a work in progress for the artist Sabri Idrus, building and realising his dream of creating a space for artists like himself to continue dreaming, making, creating, writing, reading, crafting, and doing whatever the heart and mind set out to do to achieve their creative goals. In the near future, SESI SENI plans to host artist in residence programmes for creative individuals and groups.
